Bundaberg MP David Batt is encouraging eligible Bundaberg organisations to apply for their share of the Queensland Disaster Resilience Fund.
Announced in parliament this morning, the fund is said to provide $38 million over four years to assist Queensland in becoming more resilient to disasters.
“Queensland is the most disaster prone state in Australia and here in Bundy we have all seen the heartbreak that flooding, cyclones and fire can cause,” Mr Batt said.
“When it comes to disasters, our region has gone through a lot and the Labor government still has a lot of work to do, especially when it comes to flood mitigation.
“This fund provides opportunities for our local organisations to work together to create initiatives which seek to assist our community in becoming more prepared and resilient to disasters.”
