Progress for Bundy’s Med School

12 months after CQUniversity – Bundaberg announced plans for a medical school in Bundaberg, local MP David Batt is thrilled to see plans progressing at a roundtable meeting today.

“As Bundaberg’s MP, a member of the UQ Community Advisory Committee and a member of Wide Bay Hospital and Health’s Bundaberg Community Reference Group, it is fantastic to see plans coming to fruition.

“Having third and fourth year medical students completing their studies in our beautiful city has been one of Bundy’s best kept secrets over many years, so enabling our aspiring doctors to commence their degrees here is even better!” Mr Batt said.

“A medical school will attract more people to our region and will allow Bundaberg locals to peruse their dreams right here at home. If the students study here, they are more likely to say and work here, delivering their skills and knowledge to our community for the long term.”

“Bundaberg has a lot to offer; a great climate, pristine beaches, comparatively low cost of living and so many professional opportunities.”
