“An inquiry into the delivery of aged care, end of life and palliative care in Queensland was launched in late last year by the State Government,” Mr Batt said.
“Historically, matters regarding the creation or ending of life have been dealt with as matters of conscience.
“If a bill is brought before parliament, my vote will be based on the extensive detail of the bill, the contents of the public submissions, and the view of my constituents.
“When voting on the Termination of Pregnancy bill last year, the overwhelming view of my constituents was at the forefront of my decision.
“I have already met with a number of Bundaberg residents, including members of the Dying with Dignity group to discuss their views on this matter.
“Once the inquiry is complete, I would encourage all members of the Bundaberg community to contact me in order to share their thoughts.”
